Retro Cybercity Vendors Tileset+

This pack is an interior settings pack for making stores, shops, and other types of locations you might find behind the doors you set up with the previous "exterior streets" pack. Plus, you can fill this with characters you may already have from those packs as well!

This asset pack is for creators who are looking to try a cyberpunk or futuristic scifi aesthetic that takes cues from the analog era of the 1980s and 90s. Think Blade Runner or Ready Player One with an SNES/SEGA Genesis style color palette.

It includes tiles and objects in an interior "vendors" theme meant to cover some business types you might find in a cyberpunk setting. Included are assets for a weapon store, clinic, gym, and nightclub. With some imagination, you can easily stretch the included assets into other types of settings and ideas. As always, I expect that people will find creative uses for assets that go way beyond the initial intention or theme and that is always exciting to see. The pack is top-down perspective and scaled at 16x16 but can easily be upscaled. With some tweaking or as is, it can be used in various game development engines, including Unity and RPGmaker. The pack uses the palette BLKNX64 by @blkirl.

What Does It Include?

This pack includes:

• Variety of floor, wall, and trim tiles for interiors.
• Specialty tiles for textured or unique floor tiles to represent technology and features embedded into the environment.
• Dozens of objects and props with variants, including furniture, static NPC objects to populate your shops and more!
• The + in the title indicates the extras this pack includes, such as unique NPC sprites and animations.

Will There be Updates?

I initially intended to make my Vendors pack separate from a "Bars and Nightclubs" pack that would have come later. Instead, I have combined those two themes and will likely update this pack to include other ideas later on. Mostly this will mean some variant tiles from what is already here and some new props.

Because of this, you'll be getting a lot of extra stuff in this one. More bang for your buck, I hope!

The Bonus content to this pack, which is always how I categorize adding stuff like NPC spritesheets to a tileset, isn't ready just yet but will be added in the days ahead. This pack will have the most of this type of content out of any pack I've released so far, including a pile of animated props you can get a peek at in the sidebar.

UPDATE 1 (2/13/2023):

This update includes the bonus character sprite sheets to populate your new maps. This update includes:

• Cybernetics patient
• "Dr. Droid" cybernetics med clinic doctor
• Medibot cybernetics med clinic robotic aide
• 3x Masculine NPC club dancers
• 3x Feminine NPC club dancers

UPDATE 2 (5/7/2023):

My sincere apologies for how long this took! It got put on a serious backburner, unfortunately, but it's ready now. As per usual, I'll also update this pack with more animations down the road. I am planning to do a big push on animated props for Retro Cybercity in the near future.

This update includes animated props assembled on one large 256x256 sheet. Most animations are simple, 4-frame (1sts and 3rd frame repeat) with a few using the full four frames. Here's a list of the assets involved:

• Gym Assets incl. sparring dummy and two sparring partners
• Nightclub Assets incl. serving rrobots, sliding bar gate, lights, dancer hologram, pink tree hologram, "dance it up" signs, thumpin' speakers, glitchy bar signs
  

UPDATE 3 (10/27/2023):

An update to include the "pizza parlor" suggestion from RetroPixelGames.

This update includes:

• Some tile variants incl. checkered floor and plain walls.
• Prop variants from the vendors pack with new colors and other tweaks.
• New "pizza chef" robo servers!
• New pizza parlor themed props including, well, pizza, but some other goodies too.
