MCU Tribute Character Pack
A downloadable asset pack
MCU Tribute Pack
This is a fanart tribute to the characters of the MCU.
This is a FREE content pack that works with my Retro Cybercity theme. I do not own the copyright to ANY characters in this pack so these will remain free.
Possible valid uses for these could be fangames, parody, community avatars, etc. DO NOT attempt to claim these are your own characters. However, you CAN use these sprites as a basis for your own designs if you know your way around a sprite editor.
The pack is top-down perspective character sprites with 3-frame walk cycles in four directions. The pack includes native version 16x16 sprite sheets as well as 48x48 versions (3x) that are RPG Maker compatible out of the box. It can also be used in various game development engines, including Unity and RPGmaker. The pack uses the palette BLKNX64 by @blkirl.
Housekeeping:
- All sprites are presented in PNG format with TWO size variants, native 16x16 and a 3x upscaled version (48x48).
- All sprites are presented with FULL 4-direction, 3-frame walk cycles (asymmetric design is respected -- sidebar image and thumb include ONLY front part of walk cycle just for demonstration purposes)
- All of my assets on itch are designed to be "out of the box" compatible w/ the more recent RPG Maker releases.
- All of these sprites are handmade -- I do not use "AI" in any part of my process.

Will There be Updates?
March 24 Update:
Updated to include Age of Ultron characters (see screenshot sidebar). These additions are in a separate archive (characterpack2) and must be downloaded separately -- don't just download the same pack again! Haha.
This is not an exhaustive list of all the characters featured there, but is almost all of them. Characters such as Falcon, War Machine, and Ulysses Klaue will feature in other package updates (respective to the main hero they revolve(d) around).
This is the approach I'm taking to prevent any one update from being too massive. By the time I get to Infinity War, I'm hoping to only need to include the characters uniquely featured there, with others being added to other packs along the way.
Just sayin' in case anyone wonders why I didn't include somebody!
On future Updates:
Oh... oh yes. Yes there will be updates. Many of them. I am releasing ONLY this set of characters at this time but the plan is to cover the entire breadth of the MCU and I am actually well on my way at least in terms of designs. As I complete the animations, I will release these in sets kinda like "booster packs".
These packs will revolve around specific movies, teams, shows, or central franchise characters. For example, there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy pack,
an Age of Ultron pack, a Black Panther Franchise pack, etc.
I even have a classic X-Men animated series pack started, so I'm not only doing MCU stuff either and there will also be variants for many of these characters that will include costume redesigns, classic comic book alternates, etc.
Here's a preview of things to come.
So if you like what you see... get excited!
Licensing
This is a FREE fanart pack that includes characters that belong to IP that I do not own. As a result, use your best judgment when including them in your projects. I imagine that in most regions, Fair Use laws should be at play but be cautious -- I am not a copyright lawyer.
This is a FREE pack w/o the license restrictions I put on other products of mine so I can't do much to stop anyone from doing me dirty but here's the thing -- I would REALLY appreciate it if y'all still refrained from using these free sprites, which I make out of love for the genre and as a gift to all of you, in any kind of generative "AI" anything. At least for now. So if you are determined to use "AI" in spite of my position, I invite you to download something else and stay away from my store.

Great stuff, once again. Not working on anything RN I can use these in, I just thought they were neato!
Inspired me to just for fun and on a whim make a pose of Iron Man flyin' around like he do, as well as the nigh-obligatory"War Machine is literally a pallet swap of Iron Man" recolor (which I now see glancing at the teaser was redundant).
If that is Kingpin being teased, you gotta chonk that boy up, man. He too skinny. He's supposed to be a heckin' chonker. Widen he!
Haha re: Kingpin’s size. Agonized over that! He’s still WIP for this exact reason. Bearing in mind also that Vincent D’Onofrio’s version is a good deal less… corpulent than usual designs.
That said, he could and should still be bigger, it’s easier to see w/ him posed beside “average” sized sprites in the Teaser. Like, Jon Bernthal’s hairdo is as tall as KP here in sprite form and that’s funny but not quite right haha.
I actually dig your IM and WM flight stuff here, and was planning to eventually include those as variant walk cycles where you’d have an IM kinda “hovering” a bit above the ground like it looks like you did.
I like how you interpreted color here, too. Also, thanks for having a look and dropping a comment! You have no idea how much I appreciate it!
Hey! I was wondering if you still do commissions? I tried to send an email yesterday, but I’m not sure if I did it correctly. Sorry if I didn’t! And sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask. I don’t know how to message people privately on here. 😅
Hi there. I did not receive your email. Did you send it to hedgewizardgame@gmail.com?
I do still take commissions! I usually have at least one on the go at any given time. But there’s always room for more!
Commenting here is a good idea and totally okay! It helps us connect though the details of your commission are definitely better discussed in email. If you don’t mind trying again, we can go from there!
Oh! I sent it to the wrong one! Sorry about that! Ah okay! I’ll re-send it to the correct email! Thank you! 😄
Hey! It's me, Mac! I sent you two emails (one with the placeholder included) but there's been no response. I'm really worried I upset you somehow and I'm so sorry if I did! I'm messaging here in case they just didn't get sent properly. If I offended you at all I'm very sorry, and I swear I really do like your work! I just purchased your cyber city tilesheets and I’m so excited to use them!
(Reposting because I think I replied to someone else by accident. I’m so dumb. Sorry. 😭😭)
Oh gee, no! Nothing like that! I’ll respond to your email shortly. For now the reason for the delay was just an impromptu long weekend w/ my wife and not much time near a phone or PC. I should have probably mentioned that I am typically unavailable over weekends.
You’re not dumb! Just understandably worried about your commission inquiry! It’s all right and I really appreciate the purchase and we’ll sort out the other stuff you need ASAP!
Yeah I actually had the same issue with D'Nofrio's casting on that show, although less so, because Vincent D'Nofrio is still a rather big fella (as highlighted rather brutally in his unforgettable role as Pvt. Pyle in Full Metal Jacket). Between that and the earlier Michael Clark Duncan (RIP, king) version we haven't had a live action Kingpin that actually looks like the OG Marvel comics character (probably difficult to find an actor with something close to that body type AND any degree of name recognition, but I can dream of a white widebody Wilson Fiske on screen).
I think the more comics-accurate version of KP just wouldn’t fit the Daredevil show with its “gritty realism” approach, so D’Onofrio is miraculously good casting for their version and kinda owns a whole take on the character that is unique to that ’verse.
Then over in Spider-Verse land, you’ve got a Fiske so big and round he may just be a Ninja Turtle. I will probably wind up doing the Spider-Verse characters as well so there may just be a “white widebody” (that’s hilarious) Fiske sprite on the horizon.
EDITED TO ADD: I am also a Duncan Kingpin enjoyer. Just had a convo w/ my wife recently (we’re rewatching Daredevil show) about how he brought one kind of charisma to the role, a swagger I guess, where D’Onofrio brings his own, which is more to do w/ vulnerability.
