Welcome to Midgard, the Middle World.

This is the land of humans, mortals of incredible variety and passion whose short lives are defined by blood and toil. And yet... they are also defined by courage, honor, and resilience. These traits give humans an edge in their own world and their villages will soon spread from horizon to horizon... who will we find there?

This asset pack is for creators looking to work in the fantasy genre but with the aesthetic of Norse mythology (vikings!) as a primary influence.

The pack includes a diverse set of base character portraits at native 48x48 but with a 3x scaled variant for RPG Maker. This pack can be used in just about any game engine, though creators may need to make modifications to the size and orientation of sheets. It also includes fully RPGmaker (MV/MZ) compatible sheets that plugnplay with RPGmaker's native resource importer.

This pack mixes together the warm colors and slightly bleak vibes of the comfy52 palette by bess.

What Does It Include?

• 32 Total "base" or "neutral" portraits (a pack with "emote" variants will probably come later)
• All characters correspond to the Nine Realms Midgard Villager character sprites (NOT included)
• Native size (48x48) variants with and without background
• 3x scaled (144x144) variants for RPG Maker users who may use scaled versions to keep the art in their games pixel perfect

What does it NOT include?

• Character sprites. This is portraits ONLY.
• "Emote" variants such as blinking, talking, happy, sad, hurt, etc -- these may come later.

Will There be Updates?

When I made my Retro Cybercity portrait packs, I started with large packs that featured 10+ portrait variants for each character. This makes for expensive packs and may be too niche for some users.  I eventually released "variety" packs w/ just the basic portraits for folks who did not need the extra variants.

With Nine Realms, I am offering the "Variety" pack of base portraits FIRST to see how that goes. Updates in the form of adding those variants will not be added to this pack but will roll into new packs.

All this means is that this pack is likely to be updated as I add additional characters or make fixes and minor tweaks.

Another potential update, coming soon, will be the inclusion of a "demo" version of this asset pack which will include up to two of the portraits so that users can try before they buy.

Can I Make Requests?

Yes! If you would like a unique portraits in this style for your projects or personal use, don't hesitate to ask. I have already been commissioned a number of times to make portraits in this and other styles and would be happy to do more.

• Edit the assets as much as you like for use in projects.

• Resell, repackage or redistribute the assets in original or modified form.
• Use the assets or derivatives in logo, trademark, or service mark. 
• Include these assets in game making tools or code templates. 
• Use the assets to train AI image generators.
• Use the assets for the creation or promotion of NFT, cryptocurrency, blockchain or web3 projects.
• Use the assets in any printed media or physical products.
